A leading research manager has warned applicants against submitting high-risk “startup style” funding bids for the Cooperative Research Centres’ short-term projects programme.
CRC Association chief executive Tony Peacock said that “a number of funding offers” for CRC-Ps have been withdrawn by the federal government after applicants failed to meet the programme’s requirements.
In an email to CRC participants, Peacock said the two main issues were failure to finalise intellectual property contracts and the inability to raise partnership funds to match the federal research grants.
