Six bids through to second stage of CRC selection round

Medical biotechnology, food exports and offshore renewable energy systems are among six proposals shortlisted for the second stage of the Cooperative Research Centre bidding round for 2018.

The bids were selected from 12 applications for the first stage of the programme’s competitive funding round. Their teams will now prepare and submit detailed budgets and research agendas to the federal Department of Industry, Innovation and Science by November.

Science minister Karen Andrews announced the finalists in the $731-million federal programme on 6 October. It is the 20th funding round for the programme, which aims to bring together industry and research partners to work on major national challenges.
