Nine of 16 fellows announced by the Australian Academy of the Humanities are women.
The researchers’ fields include Chinese languages, the history and science of medicine, musicology, Indigenous studies and environmental humanities, the academy said in a statement on 17 November.
Six honorary fellows were also named.
The academy has more than 500 fellows.
