Australians believe arts play “important role” in education

A national survey has found more Australians are becoming involved in arts activities, and that 75 per cent believe the arts are a vital part of education.

Federal arts funding body, The Australia Council, collected data on arts participation across the country in 2016 and published the findings on 27 June.

According to the survey, 98 per cent of Australians said the arts played a role in their lives, 60 per cent believed the arts had a positive impact on their lives, and 67 per cent said the arts helps them to be more creative.
