The government regulator for Australian and New Zealand food standards is calling for public comment on plans to change maximum residue limits for more than 90 agricultural and veterinary chemicals.
In a statement outlining the proposed changes, Food Standards Australia New Zealand chief executive Mark Booth said they will “harmonise” residue limits in the FSANZ code with those used overseas.
“Chemicals can be used differently around the world because if different pests, diseases and environmental factors,” he said.
