AIMS partners Chinese to clean up coastal waters

Australia’s leading marine science research agency will work with scientists in China to develop programmes to monitor coastal pollution.

The Australian Institute of Marine Science in Townsville has teamed up with the Institute of Oceanology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences to improve the health of the Jiaozhou Bay on the Shandong peninsula.

The bay has three major ports and its marine biodiversity has declined over the past 50 years due to industrial pollution.
