Australia’s leading science research agency is working with wine producers to develop software systems that will use satellite data to improve vineyard design and management.
The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation and rural R&D agency, Wine Australia, are cooperating on a three-year project to create simplified, user-friendly spatial data analysis programmes for growers.
The technology will allow wine producers to use a standard desktop computer to run precision viticulture programmes that will use satellite maps and data to analyse qualities such as crop condition, disease and water management across a vineyard.
