Audit of education agents set to track student performance

The federal government is calling for public comment on a plan to publish performance data for education agents used by Australian universities to recruit international students.

The Department of Education and Training has released a draft policy paper that outlines a strategy to publish all performance data and allow comparisons between agents.

The audit will track whether students signed up by agents go on to complete their courses, defer their studies, fail to make satisfactory progress, or have their studies terminated for non-payment of fees or disciplinary reasons.
