Criminology institute highlights difficulty of making students alert to cybercrime

Australia’s university students appear to be largely unaware of the cybersecurity risks posed by fake emails such as spam and phishing, a study by the Australian Institute of Criminology has found.

The study looked at the influence of different types of fake emails, cybercrime awareness, gender, IT skills and perceptions of internet safety on student susceptibility to email scams.
