Broadcaster to restructure programmes and cut up to 250 jobs following federal budget freeze

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation is to shed up to 250 jobs and review all radio and TV news programmes as part of a five-year plan to meet an $84 million budget cut.

Announcing the changes on 24 June, ABC managing director David Anderson said savings and redundancies would “affect every division” of the nation’s public broadcaster.
