Funding of A$220 million offered as ARC tries to reduce wasted effort

More than A$220 million worth of grants for Australian Research Council Discovery Projects have been announced, but a low success rate and partial funding of projects has overshadowed the round.

The council said it was changing its processes for the scheme in a bid to reduce the number of full applications that fail to win funding.
