Universities Australia pushes for changes to ARC reform bill

Vice-chancellors’ group joins individual universities in voicing concerns over Australian Research Council funding and governance

Australia’s representative body for universities has added to calls for better funding and a larger governing board for the Australian Research Council.

Legislation to reform the ARC and introduce a governing board is currently the subject of a parliamentary inquiry. Last week, Research Professional News reported on submissions from individual universities that focused on the composition of the planned governing board and the impact of its cost on the council’s budget.
