ARC examines goals of its research programme

Australian Research Council review aims to set specific funding objectives

The Australian Research Council wants university research to be aligned more closely with national plans.

For the first time, the council is developing formal objectives for its research programme, which currently receives approximately A$895 million a year in funding. The ARC has announced a review of how it might “streamline” its grants programme and work more closely with other agencies. It has also issued a formal discussion paper as part of this process.
