Grains research boosted by NSW budget funding

The New South Wales government has announced a $65-million food-security research programme to help the state’s grain farmers improve and diversify winter crop harvests.

The 10-year project will expand research services for crops such as chickpeas, fava beans, lentils, linseed, oats and safflower.

Scientists from the NSW Department of Primary Industries will work with the Grains Research and Development Corporation on projects that will include field trails, precision farming technologies and data analytics.
