Australia’s farmers are relying on digital technologies to manage herd and crop production, track market trends and build industry research databases, a national study has found.
A survey of more than 2,200 farmers involved in broadacre cropping, beef and sheep, dairy and horticulture revealed that 96 per cent owned and used digital assets.
The results show that farmers are among the country’s biggest users of technologies such as global positioning systems, electronic sensors, digital commerce websites and data analysis software.
