One of Australia’s biggest rural research agencies has developed a national plan to guide R&D funding for the tea tree oil industry.
AgriFutures Australia estimates the emerging industry currently has an annual farm gate value of $30 million, with demand steadily increasing by 25 per cent annually over the past five years.
Announcing details, AgriFutures Australia general manager John Harvey said the five-year plan has set “ambitious research targets” to drive sustainable growth of the industry.
