Sustainable tourism ‘observatory’ to protect south-west coast

Curtin University and state government aim to find right balance between development and preservation

A research centre to support sustainable tourism development in Western Australia’s south-west coastal region has been set up by Curtin University and the state government.

It is the first tourism research facility of its kind in Australia and will be part of a global network of observatories linked to the UN World Tourism Organization in Spain.
