One of Australia’s biggest rural industry research funders is to hold a series of free workshops to help farmers set up their own R&D projects and commercialise products and digital services.

The Grains Research and Development Corporation, one of 15 grower-funded farm industry research organisations, will hold the regional R&D workshops in six grain production regions. The first three will be held in Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.

The move follows recent surveys by several rural organisations, such as the Australian Farm Institute, that have revealed that farmers want more involvement in research.
