ARC-funded project aims to prevent premature flowering caused by climate change

University of Queensland crop scientists are developing pineapple varieties that can cope with climate change impacts and prevent widespread losses in one of Australia’s most important tropical fruit industries.

Climate change has been linked to early flowering in pineapples on farms in Queensland and the Northern Territory, which produce crops worth more than $70 million annually.
