Australian Burnet Institute seminar hears that rising malaria infections give urgency to neglected research

Malaria research should be given the same priority as the world gave the Covid-19 vaccine, a leading researcher from Melbourne’s Burnet Institute has said.

James Beeson (pictured) told a seminar on 27 April that a concerning upward trend in infections was starting to emerge, just as the global health community had begun to hope that malaria was coming under control.
