Consultation opens on standardising ethical supervision of clinical trials in Australia

Ethical review supervision of clinical trials that involve humans is to be standardised across Australia.

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care is developing an accreditation scheme for ethics committees in order to strengthen the National Mutual Acceptance scheme, which allows a single scientific and ethical review of multi-centre projects across Australian jurisdictions.
