Australian researchers find that synthetic products should be considered in a wider context

Using synthetic biology to solve issues is an ethical minefield, a study has found.

Replacing natural products with synthetic creations may appear to be a solution, but ethics may not be “keeping pace with emerging technology”, according to research from Macquarie University and the Australian Research Council’s Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology.
