WA puts another AU$1m into child health research

Western Australia’s state government has pledged AU$1 million toward a research fund focused on children’s health.

Its contribution to the Telethon/New Children’s Hospital Research Fund, announced on 11 November, will be dollar-matched by the Telethon charitable trust.

Universities, individual researchers and organisations will be eligible to apply for funding from the fund, the state government said.

The fund will support research into child and adolescent health and follows an AU$5.2m commitment from the state government last year to fund medical science.
