South Australia reappoints chief scientist

Don Bursill, former CEO of the Cooperative Research Centre for Water Quality and Treatment, has been reappointed Chief Scientist of South Australia until 2014, the state government announced on 26 June.

Science and information economy minister Tom Kenyon said the reappointment shows South Australia’s commitment to science when it comes to industry expansion and sustainability across the state.

“He’ll continue to raise the profile of research and development in South Australia to support key industry sectors such as health, resources, defence and agriculture,” Kenyon said.

Bursill has held the post since 2011.
