$1.7m boost for cancer council in Victoria

The government of Victoria is to provide $1.7 million to Cancer Council Victoria as part of its plan to invest more in cancer research over the next four years.

The bulk of the money will be used to expand a project, run by the Victorian Cancer Registry, to collect cancer notification data from pathology data systems.

The funding is part of the $60m four-year boost for cancer research that was announced by Victoria’s coalition government last year.
