Governments are ‘better bets’ for grant success

State governments are the most regular source of grants in Australia, providing more than half of all grants worth more than $1 million, according to a study by a not-for profits business network.

Our Community is a Melbourne-based “social investment” organisation that helps community groups, charities and schools work with corporate donors and government agencies.

Its report, Grants in Australia 2017, is based on a survey of more than 1,200 people who applied for grants in 2016. The organisation also tracked the results of more than 3,000 grants programmes in Australia.
