Emphatic win for Andrews government in Victorian election

Victorians have voted for another four years of Labor government, delivering an unexpected landslide win for premier Daniel Andrews that defied both opinion polls and media predictions.

The win was so decisive that the result was known less than 90 minutes after polling booths closed across the state.

Media commentators began talking of a “Dan-slide” as early results showed Labor was likely to pick up at least 12 seats previously held by the Liberal Party.
