Australia should help set up a “global moonshot” research initiative to look at long-term solar energy storage, former prime minister Kevin Rudd has said.
In a wide-ranging Ask Me Anything public interview for social news website Reddit, Rudd also called for a public inquiry into the concentrated ownership and lack of diversity in Australia’s media.
He suggested that conservative media interests were undermining government policies in areas including broadband technologies, climate change and research.
