'What does it take to wake these people up in Canberra' asks fire expert

The Morrison government ignored climate and bushfire risk research that warned the country was facing the “most dangerous fire season” for more than three decades, one of Australia’s leading fire management experts has said.

Greg Mullins, a former New South Wales fire and rescue commissioner, wrote to prime minister Scott Morrison in April and September warning that research showed Australia’s eastern states faced “an unprecedented” summer bushfire season.
