Queensland sets sights on chain of innovation precincts

Australia’s Sunshine State aims to develop research and industry links in 10-year recovery plan

The Queensland government is developing an Innovation Places strategy involving local centres of research and industry cooperation.

In a discussion paper released on 8 October, the government proposes setting up a chain of “distinct” precincts across the state, each with its own speciality. The paper, from development authority Advance Queensland, proposes work on digital infrastructure and links between industry and research centres.
