Country’s extinction crisis is fixable with better resources, Senate inquiry told

Australia should spend at least 2 per cent of GDP on conservation, the Ecological Society of Australia has told a Senate inquiry.

In its submission to an inquiry on the “extinction crisis” by the Senate Standing Committees on Environment and Communications, the ESA says that improved monitoring, better management of key threats and targeted research are needed in order to reverse the rapid rate of species extinction.
