Groups express concern that amendments to trade controls could threaten Australian research

The research sector has expressed alarm over the swift introduction of research security laws into Australian Parliament.

On 30 November the Australian Academy of Science said “Australia’s capacity to engage in the global research system is at stake”, as Richard Marles (pictured), the minister for defence, tabled new defence controls.
