
Australia’s justice system must enable “complex and emerging science” to be heard
The Australian Academy of Science has said that the release of Kathleen Folbigg should lead to reforms to ensure science has a voice in the justice system.
Folbigg was pardoned on 5 June after serving 20 years in prison for a 2003 conviction of the murder and manslaughter of her four children. New genetic and other scientific evidence had long cast doubt on the conviction.
