Researchers in Australia tell of long wait times and blockages

Faster processing times and tougher deadlines for reviews of complaints and decisions would improve Australia’s freedom of information system, a Senate inquiry has found.

The Legal and Constitutional Affairs References Committee’s report on the operation of freedom of information laws, released in December, recommended that individual government agencies no longer review their own freedom of information decisions.
