“The system must change, not the people,” Australian government told
Science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields in Australia need to stop expecting people to change to fit in and must engage in top-down reform, a sweeping review has found.
The Stem diversity report, handed to the Department of Industry, Science and Resources on 13 February, says that “the system must change, not the people”. This could include changing the rules on procurement and grant awards to help meet targets.
