‘Future Made in Australia’ vision raises R&D hopes

Universities and research groups welcome government commitment to Australian manufacturing and innovation

Research bodies have expressed their hope that the government’s ‘Future Made in Australia’ priorities will mean a resurgence of attention for research and development.

On 11 April, prime minister Anthony Albanese said the government would pass a Future Made in Australia Act to back Australian manufacturing and innovation, with the country “researching, designing, building and exporting value-added products to the world”.
