Senate inquiry finds multiple problems with Australia’s polar science programme

Australia should get a second Antarctic research vessel and increase its spending on Antarctic science, a Senate inquiry has found.

The final report from the Senate’s Standing Committees on Environment and Communications said the number of “shipping days” available to the Antarctic should increase by up to 50 per cent.
