Philip Brown, professor of accountancy and finance at The University of Western Australia, has been selected as one of the 2012 presidential scholars by the American Accounting Association.
Brown was selected on the basis of a paper he co-authored with Ray Ball of the University of Chicago, which transformed global understanding of the impact of corporate disclosure on share prices. The paper was published in 1968.
