Eight Australian universities in world top 200

Eight Australian universities figure in the top 200 of the Times Higher Education world university rankings, published on 3 October.

The University of Adelaide joined the group this year, at No. 176. The University of Melbourne remains the national leader at 28, up from 37 in last year’s league table.

Six institutions improved their positions compared to last year, with Monash University leaping 18 places to finish at 99.

Australia’s other ranked institutions are: Australian National University (37), Sydney University (62), University of Queensland (65), University of New South Wales (85) and University of Western Australia (190).
