A national Cooperative Research Centre based at Monash University and focused on water sustainability was launched on 24 September.
The research hub aims to improve the productivity and sustainability of Australian cities. The government has contributed AU$30 million in start-up funding, and the CRC has a total budget of AU$100m over nine years.
More than 20 projects are already underway with 76 partners, including state government agencies, local governments, water authorities and universities.
