Monash University has appointed sociologist Zlatko Skrbis as its pro vice-chancellor for research and research training.
Skrbis was previously dean of the University of Queensland’s Graduate School and is convenor of the Council of Deans and Directors of Graduate Studies in Australia.
He will lead Monash’s changed approach to research training, which includes a PhD programme in which students will carry out more coursework and skills training.
