Students plan to make campus safer for women

Victoria University has received a $50,000 grant from the state government for a student campaign to promote zero-tolerance of violence against women at its Melbourne campuses.

It is the only university to be awarded a community grant as part of a state government programme to prevent verbal and physical violence against women.

According to a VU statement, the student union will develop a three-year plan to promote respectful and responsible behaviour to improve campus safety for women.
