Steep fines and jail time proposed for contract cheating services

Education minister aims to ‘undermine the business model of commercial cheating service providers’

Companies that sell cheating services to higher education students could face prison sentences and fines of up to $100,000 under laws proposed by federal education minister Dan Tehan.

The laws would also crack down on unpaid cheating by friends and family members who help students write essays and pass online exams.
