Indigenous languages part of ANU ‘reconciliation roadmap’

The Australian National University is to engage more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander academics and increase its commitment to teaching Indigenous languages, vice-chancellor Brian Schmidt has said.

In the annual State of the University address on 12 February, Schmidt said the ANU had committed to a leadership role in the reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

“In 2018, when we launched our Reconciliation Action Plan, we set a roadmap for what we want to achieve,” he told the audience at Llewellyn Hall.
