University clinic to treat breathing problems caused by bushfires

Macquarie aims to provide quick medical access to address spike in respiratory conditions

A specialist clinic to treat high numbers of Sydney patients suffering from acute respiratory conditions linked to bushfire smoke and poor air quality has been launched by Macquarie University.

The university’s Breathe Easy bushfire respiratory service opened on 20 January and is headed by Alvin Ing, professor of respiratory medicine at the university’s MQ medical centre.
