Proposed changes could mean a stronger focus on outputs and outcomes at Australian universities

Universities are concerned that guidance on ‘scholarship’ from Australia’s regulatory body may restrict academic activities, a seminar has heard.

The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency is reviewing its official guidance note on scholarship, which is one of the higher education standards it assesses when classifying institutions. TEQSA has issued a discussion paper, with submissions due by 14 December.
