Australian universities need to know what to share and what to hide, says intelligence chief

Security agencies are to give Australian universities an expanded list of “sensitive” topics that are vulnerable to foreign interference and espionage, a parliamentary committee has been told.

The Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security is inquiring into security risks in Australia’s universities and research. Australian Security Intelligence Organisation director-general Mike Burgess gave evidence to the committee on 10 March.
