Restructuring plans put jobs in danger at Australian universities

    

Cost-cutting measures hit staff around the country, with 200 jobs to go at La Trobe

La Trobe University has released a restructuring plan under which around 200 jobs will be cut.

In the largest of several recent announcements by Australian universities, the plan, published by La Trobe vice-chancellor John Dewar on 14 July, aims to save the university A$28 million.
