Eight Australian universities vie for ‘trailblazer’ status

Shortlisted projects include research into food and beverages, clean energy and medical products

The Australian government has announced the eight shortlisted projects in its A$242.7 million “trailblazer” university research commercialisation scheme.

The projects, chosen from 21 applications, stand to receive a significant boost in both funding and status. A final four successful universities are expected to be named in late March, with funding to flow from 1 July.
