On-farm research could transform agriculture, paper says

Australian researchers lead study into collaborative technique foregrounding real-world experimentation

Global agriculture could be transformed by a method that puts farmers’ individual circumstances “back at the heart of the research process”, a study has found.

“On-farm research” uses farmers and working farms to conduct experiments, and it takes into account “real farm conditions” as well as farmers’ actual priorities, the authors say.
